Australia's Suncorp says appoints new CEO

SYDNEY, July 1 (Reuters) - Australia's second-biggest car and home insurer Suncorp-Metway Ltd (SUN.AX) has appointed Patrick Snowball as its new chief executive, the company said on Wednesday.
Suncorp, also the country's fifth-largest bank, said Snowball would take up the post on Sept. 1 and would also join the Suncorp Board.
Snowball has previously held senior positions at British insurance groups Aviva plc (AV.L) and Towergate. (Reporting by Mette Fraende)
