Plane not at fault in Yemen crash: France transport minister

PARIS | Tue Jun 30, 2009 3:43am EDT

PARIS (Reuters) - France's transport minister said the plane was not at fault in the crash of an Airbus A310-300 into choppy seas as it tried to land in bad weather near Comoros Tuesday.

"It has nothing to do with the plane," Dominique Bussereau said on Europe 1 radio.

"We will know the cause of things."

It was the second Airbus to plunge into the sea this month. An Air France Airbus A330-200 crashed into the Atlantic Ocean killing 228 people on June 1.
