MOSCOW--(Business Wire)--
DeviceLock, Inc., a worldwide leader in endpoint device control and
context-aware data leak prevention software solutions, today announced that
brisk sales in the first half of 2009 have pushed its installed base beyond
another million-mark milestone. DeviceLock is now deployed on over 4 million
computers, with the customer base expanding across six continents, including
Africa since the addition of a South African distributor in March of this year.
The company has faced a difficult sales climate this year along with the rest of
the information security industry due to the global economic crisis. However,
the need for device/port protection on local endpoints has been acute, and the
value delivered by DeviceLock sufficiently compelling to convince new customers
to buy and existing customers to renew their licenses in 2009.

"DeviceLock's success in this era of tight IT spending suggests that enterprises
that deal in confidential data - financial, healthcare and creative-IP firms -
want real protection from insider data leaks, not just a mark on their
compliance checklist," said Ashot Oganesyan, DeviceLock CTO and Founder.
"DeviceLock has been selling not only in the face of a global spending downturn,
but also despite major marketing campaigns that suggest network-based Data Leak
Prevention (DLP) appliances and immature content-filtering technology are all
that`s needed at the endpoint. Evidently, the steady stream of headlines
announcing how employees were able to slip valuable data in their pocket using a
flash drive, smartphone, or simple hardcopy has sent a more practical message.
Content filtering has great potential, but the ultimate DLP solution also
requires context-aware control over all local data transmission channels. Simple
local access queries, such as 'Should this user be able to use this removable
device in this port?' cannot be effectively controlled from the network. Our
customers understand this and consider DeviceLock to be as important to their
complete DLP protection as network-based DLP."

Another factor driving sales in the first half of 2009 was the release of
DeviceLock 6.4. This version includes true file type detection and filtering-the
first deep data analysis feature built atop DeviceLock`s new content processing
engine, enabling the interception of peripheral device read/write operations,
analysis of the entire digital content in real-time, and enforcement of
applicable file-type-based security policies. DeviceLock 6.4 also has
network-awareness support, allowing security administrators to apply different
permission sets that take into account whether the user is working from the
protected corporate network or from a much less safe and predictable Internet
environment.

DeviceLock-based software solutions proactively protect organizations of all
sizes across all sectors against data leakage and prevent the infiltration of a
corporate network by malware through local ports of employees` computers,
thereby significantly reducing business risks resulting from insider negligence,
errors or malicious actions. DeviceLock software is designed for Microsoft
Windows operating systems and features comprehensive central management that is
natively integrated with Microsoft Active Directory. It enables users to
precisely control, log, shadow-copy and audit end-user access to ports and
peripheral devices, including local, network and virtual printers, as well as
Windows Mobile and Palm OS based personal mobile devices, of any type of
computer. DeviceLock also integrates with leading encryption products from PGP,
Lexar, and TrueCrypt, in order to protect data on removable storage devices. In
addition, DeviceLock blocks operations of USB and PS/2 hardware keyloggers.
