Innovative Online Community That Mobilizes Tweens and Their Families to Give Back Also Takes Home 16 Communicator Awards BOSTON--(Business Wire)-- Children`s Hospital Boston`s Generation Cures (www.kids.generationcures.org) movement has been honored for creating the "Website of the Year" by the Mom`s Choice Awards, which recognize excellence in family-friendly media, products and services. The judging panel included: Dr. Twila C. Liggett, ten-time Emmy winner, professor and founder of PBS`s Reading Rainbow; Julie Aigner-Clark, creator of Baby Einstein; and Bettie B. Youngs, Ph.D., M.Ed., a Pulitzer Prize-nominated author of 34 books and director of Professional Development, Inc. Generation Cures also recently received 16 Communicator Awards, honoring creative excellence for communications professionals. The innovative tween website was recognized in a variety of categories, including family/parenting, games, health, science, teen and visual appeal. Judging for the Communicator Awards is overseen and sanctioned by the International Academy of Visual Arts. "Generation Cures teaches tweens they can change the world and gives them the tools to change the lives of other kids," said Jan Cady, chief philanthropy officer of Children`s Hospital Boston.
