Three-Year Deal Extends IP VPN Services across 35 Worldwide Locations
PARIS--(Business Wire)--
Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS), a leading global supplier of high
performance semiconductor solutions, has chosen Orange Business Services as its
primary worldwide network services provider. The three-year agreement includes a
global managed IP Virtual Private Network (IP VPN), with IP voice services,
network-based internet gateways, and DSL connections to Fairchild
Semiconductor`s smaller offices.

Orange Business Services will manage the IP VPN services across 35 locations in
North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, integrating data and voice connections
under a single communications umbrella.

"As a global business, we require common IT infrastructure platforms in order to
effectively communicate across all our sites," said Alan Bakutis, global manager
of IT Network Services at Fairchild Semiconductor. "Orange Business Services
offers an integrated, high performing, and reliable global network to support
our business goal of increasing the speed by which we are able to design,
manufacture and deliver products to our customers."

In addition to managed data services, Fairchild will incorporate the following
solutions onto its MPLS-based IP VPN:

* Business Talk Global - A feature-rich, converged voice VPN service that
exceeds the capabilities of traditional voice VPNs by combining features like
private dial plans and best-choice routing with the latest voice-over-IP
capabilities. Business Talk helps reduce costs and improve service globally.
* Small Office Solutions -Fairchild Semiconductor is using the DSL option of
Small Office Solutions, a services portfolio designed for small or branch
offices of multinationals, to connect additional sales offices as the company
grows. DSL enables customers to cost-effectively and easily connect their
smaller sites to the corporate network.
* Network-based Internet Gateways - Providing internet access through regional
gateways on the IP VPN network enables Fairchild Semiconductor to limit
expenditure while increasing access redundancy.

"Fairchild Semiconductor exemplifies an overall converged network services trend
we are seeing," said Diana Leonard, senior vice president, Americas, Orange
Business Services. "A multifaceted communications network is vital for any
business to be successful across different markets and territories. At Orange
Business Services, we`ve consistently expanded the scale and spectrum of our
network to support our customers on this worldwide stage."

The Orange network currently reaches 220 countries and territories, with IP VPN
access available in 151 countries. The company also has dedicated teams in more
than 166 countries and territories worldwide.
