EMC Documentum Records Manager Solution Provides Modular Approach to Creation,
Safeguard, Access and Destruction of Records

HOPKINTON, Mass., July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the
world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that
Forrester Research has recognized the EMC(R) Documentum(R) Records Manager
solution as a Leader in the records management market.

The June 2009 report of "The Forrester Wave(TM): Records Management, Q2 2009"
states that "EMC's modular approach for retention management provides
significant flexibility and is compelling, especially as the vendor continues
to integrate its diverse archiving, storage, security and legal risk
mitigation assets."

"Our placement as a Leader by Forrester further reflects EMC's commitment to
delivering a world-class records management solution," said Whitney Tidmarsh,
Chief Marketing Officer, Content Management and Archiving Division at EMC.
"As compliance, local regulations and best practices continue to drive
requirements for records and retention management, we will continue to provide
innovative solutions that enable our global customers to manage their
information the way they want to for good information governance and the way
they need to for regulatory compliance."

The Documentum Records Manager solution allows organizations to control the
entire lifecycle of corporate records according to system-enforced policies.
Its modular architecture allows customers to deploy as little or as much
functionality as needed. The Documentum Retention Policy Services allows
customers to deploy retention and disposition that is completely transparent
to users. Customers can also deploy a more formal records system that meets
full DoD 5015.2 certification. Add-on modules include Documentum Physical
Records Services and Documentum Federated Records Services. Physical Records
Services extends the solution to manage paper, microfiche and other types of
physical records in addition to electronic records. Federated Records
Services extends retention management capabilities to additional repositories,
including Documentum and other third party systems, to provide a single system
of record for business content, regardless of location or system.
