WHAT: eSilicon Corporation's Vice President of Design Technology, Prasad
Subramaniam, Ph.D. will participate on a panel discussion to be held at
the 46th Annual Design Automation Conference (DAC) entitled "DFM:
Band-aid or Competitive Weapon." The panel of experts, which also includes
representatives from Cambridge Silicon Radio, PDF Solutions, TSMC and
Virage Logic, will discuss whether design-for-manufacturing (DFM)
methodologies and tools can be used to improve the competitiveness of
design, or merely to help avoid manufacturing errors and improve yield. In
his role at eSilicon, Subramaniam oversees the company's platform for IC
design, including its use of DFM methods. In this capacity, he brings a
perspective from both the design side of the chip development process, as
well as the relationship with advanced silicon manufacturing issues.
