Clear Channel Radio Pays Tribute to Michael Jackson with Continued Coverage On-Air and Online

New Michael Jackson Digital Station Launched on iheartradio --(Business Wire)-- Clear Channel Radio WHAT: Since the news of Michael Jackson`s untimely death, millions of listeners across the nation have tuned into Clear Channel Radio stations and websites for more information on his life and extraordinary musical career. Anticipating the overwhelming listener demand for Michael Jackson`s music, Clear Channel Radio stations played his songs over 23,000 times in the week following his death, according to Mediabase. By comparison, on the day preceding his death, his songs received only 168 spins total. Stations across the country produced local 'Mega-Mixes' of Jackson`s music, as well as one-hour specials devoted to his life. Clear Channel Radio Digital launched a content-rich retrospective across its network of radio station websites, which included his library of music videos, photo galleries, the latest news, and artist tributes. This digital content attracted millions of page views and hundreds of thousands of on demand plays of Jackson`s videos and testimonials. Clear Channel Radio stations will continue to celebrate the life and music of the "King of Pop" by offering complete coverage of his public memorial service at Los Angeles` Staples Center. HOW:ON-AIR: Clear Channel Radio stations will air at least three hours of Michael Jackson-centric programming, including a one-hour pre-show hosted by Paul Cubby Bryant and Cindy Vero from WKTU/New York, followed by the un-hosted, commercial-free audio feed of the memorial service at the Staples Center.
