Batter Blaster(TM) dethrones the Lions Club of Lubbock, Texas, after only two months on top AUSTIN, Texas, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- After blasting the previous record by almost 10,000 pancakes, Batter Blaster is now the official world record holder for "Most Pancakes Made in 8 Hours," as certified by Guinness World Records(TM). On May 9, the Batter Blaster team made 76,382 pancakes in Centennial Olympic Park (Atlanta, Ga.). This number easily beats out the pre-existing record set in February 2009 by the Lions Club of Lubbock, Texas, of 66,549 pancakes. "The Batter Blaster team pulled out all the stops to break this record," says Sean O'Connor, founder and CEO of Batter Blaster. "We brought in more than 30 grills, and we had some of the best volunteers available. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the competition comes up with next. It's going to take a lot more than a few extra pancakes to beat us!" While the event was free, it was held in partial support of Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless, an Atlanta-based nonprofit organization dedicated to rescue, restore and re-stabilize at-risk and homeless individuals and families so they can thrive and become self-sufficient. Batter Blaster hopes to continue its philanthropy in the coming months. "The record is really the 'icing on the cake' for us," says O'Connor. "The real winners are the people we're helping. These events, including the Lubbock Lions Pancake Festival, help raise awareness and provide support to important causes and charities. We look forward to working with many more in the future."
