Furniture Brands Names Mark Wiltshire to Head Expansion of Canadian Market

ST. LOUIS, July 7, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Furniture Brands International
(NYSE:FBN) today announced that it has appointed Mark Wiltshire to the position
of President, Canada. This new position will be responsible for increasing
Furniture Brand's sales in Canada across the company's entire brand portfolio.
Mr. Wiltshire had previously served as president of Retail Division for La-Z-Boy
(NYSE:LZB) with extensive experience across North America.

expansion into this important market. His knowledge of store and gallery
programs as well as relationships with Canada's top retail chains will speed the
