ROSEMEAD, Calif.--(Business Wire)--
Southern California Edison (SCE) today issued a competitive Request for Offers
(RFO) for new power contracts with independent generators and marketers. The RFO
seeks agreements of up to 45 months in duration that will enhance the
electricity supply for the 14 million Californians the utility serves.

SCE is seeking contracts that include dispatchable tolling agreements,
non-dispatchable qualifying facilities resources, financial call options, and
resource-adequacy capacity products.

RFO documents are available at www.sce.com/allsourcerfo.

"We believe an open, fair, and transparent solicitation for capacity and energy
from independent suppliers is one of the most effective ways to build our future
portfolio," said Kevin Cini, SCE vice president, Energy Supply and Management.

Last week, SCE announced a solicitation that seeks short-term and long-term
contracts for projects powered by solar, wind, biomass, biogas, small hydro, and
geothermal fuels to expand its portfolio of renewable power. Currently, SCE is
the nation`s leading purchaser of renewable energy.

The utility anticipates launching another renewable solicitation later this
summer for solar photovoltaic projects that will complement SCE`s 250-megawatt
rooftop solar installation program.
