DTE Energy to Ring Closing Bell at New York Stock Exchange to Celebrate
100-Year Listing Anniversary

    WHAT:             DTE Energy, originally listed on the New York Stock
                      Exchange as Detroit Edison, will celebrate its 100-year
                      anniversary of its listing on the Exchange by ringing
                      the closing bell.

    WHO:              DTE Energy Chairman and CEO Anthony F. Earley Jr. and
                      David E. Meador, executive vice president and chief
                      financial officer, will ring the closing bell.

    WHEN:             4 p.m. Friday, July 10

    WHERE:            New York Stock Exchange, New York, NY

    BACKGROUND:       Only 17 other companies have been listed longer than DTE
                      Energy on the New York Stock Exchange.
