CALGARY, ALBERTA, Jul 07 (MARKET WIRE) --
Unveiling our summer wardrobe is joyful, but few of us look forward to
exposing our half naked bodies in a swimsuit. Wearing the right swimsuit
for your body type is the key to exuding confidence and looking your best.
Everyone's figure is unique, and the secret to swimwear is finding a
swimsuit that plays up your best features to create a flattering look. In
a recent Swimco online survey of over 2500 females ranging in age from 15
to 70 years, Swimco learned that almost a third of women see their bust
as their best physical asset in a swimsuit, followed by smile (20.6%),
legs (17.9%), and shoulders (10%). Not surprisingly, almost a third of
the women surveyed would like a swimsuit that assists with tummy control,
followed by bust support (18.8%), bust enhancement (18%), and hip
minimization (11.3%).
"It is definitely possible to find a swimsuit that is flattering, no
matter what your shape or size," states Lori Bacon, President of Swimco."
"Be prepared to take a little time, however, to get it right." Swimco
learned in its online survey that 93% of women try on at least 3
swimsuits before purchase, with 40% trying on 6 or more. When asked what
makes a woman look most beautiful in a swimsuit, "confidence" was the
most common response, placing far ahead of "youth", "toned" and "body
shape".
"Different swimsuits address different needs," says Lori. "The research
emphasized the importance of the most common swimsuit solutions: Hip
Help, Tummy Toner, Waist Shaper, Bust Enhancer and C-Cup & Up, when it
comes to helping women feel their best." To illustrate the power of these
solutions, Swimco staff recently underwent their own personal swimsuit
interventions. Details of each "before" and "after" intervention are
below.
Hip Help - Plenty of women want to draw attention away from their bottom
half. This skirted bottom swimsuit gives extra coverage in a sporty,
feminine way. The bright patterned tankini top combined with the black
bottom, brings the eye upward.
Tummy Toner - This solid metallic 1-piece swimsuit is unflattering to her
mid-section. It is also too short for her torso, dragging the bustline
down. The animal-print 1-piece is much better, with a built-in tummy
control panel, plunge neckline and wrapped, gathered fabric to define the
waist.
Waist Shaper - This high-waisted skirted bottom is cuts off her
mid-section and shortens her waist. A hipster bikini bottom lengthens the
torso by showing off her waist. Also the hot pink colour gives a healthy
summer glow, much better than the neutral colors of brown, black and
cream.
Bust Booster - This 1-piece is too overpowering for her petite frame and
flattens her figure. By choosing an "up-a-cup" 2-piece with horizontal
stripes, wider straps, metallic embellishments and a supportive
underband, the striped swimsuit is a wonderful bust enhancer.
C-Cup & Up - Women with fuller busts should look for styles with enough
support. The lack of support in this red swimsuit makes her look too
heavy on top. The purple style has flexible underwires and built-in
molded cups to create a gorgeous bustline! As well, the combination of
vertical and horizontal fabric ruching creates figure definition designed
to slim the torso and enhance the bust.
