Local Insight Regatta Holdings Announces Consolidation of Its Two Operating
Subsidiaries Under New Berry Brand
DENVER, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Local Insight Regatta Holdings, Inc., a leading
Yellow Pages and online local search company ("Regatta"), today announced that
one of its operating subsidiaries, Local Insight Yellow Pages, Inc., has
merged into Regatta's other operating subsidiary, The Berry Company LLC. The
combined operating company has adopted a new Berry brand, which reflects the
company's growing expertise in providing small and medium-sized businesses
with a full range of local search solutions.
"We are very pleased to adopt the new Berry brand for all of our stateside
operations, a name with a 99-year legacy of trust and performance," said Scott
A. Pomeroy, director of Regatta and president and CEO of The Berry Company.
"The new Berry brand builds on these attributes and communicates our
commitment to innovation and progress, as we connect our small and
medium-sized business clients with consumers who use multiple media to search
for local businesses."
The brand and tagline - "Your Local Leads Expert" - have been redesigned to
communicate the company's expansion into a full range of local search
solutions, including web sites, search engine marketing and optimization,
video and Internet Yellow Pages, via the company's relationship with
YELLOWPAGES.com(TM) -- and print directories. The Berry Company publishes
nearly 900 print directories for incumbent telephone companies, generally in
small and mid-tier markets, where consumer usage of print directories
continues to be strong.
"We're evolving from a single product provider to an 'advisor' or 'agency' for
our local business advertisers, focused on helping them generate consumer
leads from multiple sources, and helping them track, measure and optimize
their return on investment," said Pomeroy. "Local search can be
time-consuming and complex - and we help bring clarity and simplicity to
businesses who want to ensure they are in the path of consumers, whenever and
however they are searching."
Consistent with the company's strategy, the new Berry brand will serve as a
business-to-business brand. The Berry Company will continue to represent
multiple telco and online consumer brands, including Windstream, Cincinnati
Bell Directory, Alaska Communications Systems, Hawaiian Telcom, Frontier
Communications and CenturyTel, as well as Google AdWords and YELLOWPAGES.com.
Through its relationship with YELLOWPAGES.com, The Berry Company resells the
entire YELLOWPAGES.com portfolio, which includes video profiles.
As a result of the merger, the Local Insight Yellow Pages name and brand,
which to date have been used in connection with the publication of print and
Internet directories for Windstream Corporation and certain other telcos, will
no longer be used; going forward, these activities will be managed under the
Berry brand.
