Yangtze Power says H1 output up 0.7 pct on year

SHANGHAI, July 8 (Reuters) - Yangtze Electric Power Co, operator of the country's largest hydropower project, the Three Gorges Dam, said on Wednesday that its power output in the first half of the year edged up 0.7 percent from a year earlier.

Yangtze Power (600900.SS) produced 17.3 billion kilowatt hours in the first half of the year, with power allocated from the Three Gorges in China's southwest 2.5 percent lower than the year-ago period at 10.0 billion kilowatt hours, the company said in a statement.

The company shares Three Gorges output with its state-owned parent, China Three Gorges Project Corp. (Reporting by Rujun Shen and Ben Blanchard; Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
