Bank of China says issued 40 bln yuan bonds

HONG KONG, July 8 (Reuters) - Bank of China (601988.SS) (3988.HK), the country's largest foreign exchange bank, said late on Tuesday it had issued 40 billion yuan ($5.9 billion) in subordinated bonds in the national interbank bond market on Monday.

The Chinese lender said the funds raised would be used to replenish the supplementary capital of the bank.
