Communications announced today that Jessica Smith will join the firm as Vice
President in the Sacramento office.  Smith is a highly respected and
influential blogger recently named as one of the Power Pack in Nielsen's Power
Mom 50 list. With unique experience as a blogger and player in the social
media space along with 10 years of marketing and business development tenure,
Smith will serve as a strategic resource to help continue to grow the firm's
digital integration consulting capability for the entire West Coast and

Smith will be joining the industry-leading efforts of cutting-edge
strategists, designers, developers, and online communication experts that make
up the Fleishman-Hillard digital practice group.

Prior to her new role with Fleishman-Hillard, Smith worked as a freelance
marketing strategist with a specialty in creating buzz and communities for
brands that target moms through new media.  In 2008, Smith created
Jessicaknows.com where she blogs about business, marketing, advertising,
social media and achieving work/life balance as a virtual executive while
providing a personal glimpse into her life as a mom.  Jessicaknows.com
achieved between 45,000 and 65,000 page views per month with more than 1,000
subscribers and created a Twitter following of nearly 22,000. 

Smith will also support FH Moms, a global practice group launched in January
2009 that focuses on marketing to the consumer segment responsible for 85
percent of all household purchasing decisions: mothers.  Smith is
well-regarded in the influential mommy blogosphere and will serve as a key
strategist across the firm's global network of 80 offices to provide strategic
counsel on where and how to communicate with moms as a unique consumer

Smith is a graduate of University of Maryland College Park with a bachelor's
degree in Communications.  She began her career with Sapient Corporation, a
premier global business and technology services firm, where she worked in the
information technology space and helped open their Houston office.  From
there, Smith worked with a privately held management consulting firm where she
focused on fundraising, economic development and marketing for clients
including the Gettysburg Foundation and London First Centre.  

Currently based in the Washington D.C. area, Smith will officially join
Fleishman Hillard on July 13 and work from the Washington, DC office for three
weeks while making plans for a permanent move to Sacramento the first week in
