UPDATE 1-AngioDynamics Q4 profit misses Street, sees weak 2010

* Sees 2010 revenue in range of $209-$215 mln

July 16 (Reuters) - Medical-devices supplier AngioDynamics Inc (ANGO.O) posted a lower-than-expected quarterly profit, hurt by lower margins, and forecast 2010 results below expectations, sending its shares down.

For the fourth quarter, the company reported a net income of $2.9 million, or 12 cents a share, compared with $519,000, or 2 cents, a year ago.

Excluding items, the company earned 14 cents a share.

Revenue rose 13 percent to $52.8 million.

Analysts on average expected earnings of 15 cents a share, excluding special items, on revenue of $53.5 million, according to Reuters Estimates.

The company forecast fiscal 2010 earnings of 43 cents a share to 47 cents, on revenue of $209 million to $215 million.

Analysts on average expected earnings of 59 cents a share, excluding items, on revenue of $215.1 million.

Shares of the company were trading down $1.10 at $11.90 in after-market trade. They closed at $13 Thursday on Nasdaq. (Reporting by Anand Basu in Bangalore; Editing by Unnikrishnan Nair)
