EU says received new AUA remedy offer from Lufthansa

BRUSSELS, July 16 (Reuters) - The European Commission said on Thursday that it had received a new offer from Lufthansa (LHAG.DE) aimed at tackling antitrust concerns over the German carrier's plan to buy Austrian Airlines (AUA) AUAV.VI.

"The European Commission can confirm that it has received a new offer from Lufthansa in the context of its ongoing in-depth investigation of Lufthansa's proposed takeover of Austrian Airlines," the EU executive said in a statement.

The Commission said it will study the offer, but could not make further comments.
