VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 16 (Reuters) - A letter believed linked to pipeline bombings in Western Canada gives EnCana Corp (ECA.TO) three months to start phasing out its natural gas operations in the region, local media reported on Thursday.

The new letter, sent to the Dawson Creek Daily News on Wednesday, warns that the bombings will get worse if EnCana does not comply.

It is believed to be the second letter from a saboteur responsible for six bombings of EnCana facilities near the northeastern British Columbia community since last Fall.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, who have said they are very concerned about the letter's contents, are scheduled to release more information at a news conference in Dawson Creek on Thursday.

The first letter, sent to the media shortly before the bombings began last October, called EnCana "terrorists" and demanded energy firms end operations in the area, which is a major production site for natural gas.

The explosions have not caused any injuries, but have caused gas leaks. (Reporting by Allan Dowd; editing by Rob Wilson)
