France Telecom unit makes new bid for Egypt Mobinil

CAIRO, July 16 (Reuters) - A subsidiary of France Telecom (FTE.PA) has submitted a new tender offer to purchase outstanding shares in Egyptian mobile operator Mobinil (EMOB.CA), the Egyptian stock exchange said on Thursday.

Citing a release from the regulator, the Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority, it said that "an obligatory tender offer was submitted ... from Orange Participations ... to purchase the whole shares of the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services," also known by its trade name Mobinil, the bourse said.

The regulator was studying this offer, it added.
