WASHINGTON, July 16 (Reuters) - Ghana will receive $1.1 billion in resources from the International Monetary Fund this year, including $452 million in IMF special drawing rights, an IMF official said on Thursday.

The IMF approved a $600 million financing program for the West African country on on Wednesday to support the government's economic program as it gears up for the start of oil production in 2011. The SDR allocation is part of a $250 billion agreement among G20 member nations to boost global liquidity.

The IMF mission chief to Ghana, Peter Allum, said Ghana's economy was holding up well in the wake of the global financial crisis, with growth expected to reach 4.5 percent this year, then rising to 5 percent in 2010, before soaring to 24 percent as oil starts to flow.
