No-one can stop me going home: Honduras' Zelaya
TEGUCIGALPA |
TEGUCIGALPA (Reuters) - Deposed Honduran President Manuel Zelaya on Sunday vowed to return to Honduras, saying no-one could stop him but that he had not yet closed the door on Costa Rica's mediation efforts to defuse the political crisis in Honduras.
"Absolutely no-one can stop me (from returning). I'm a Honduran, it is my right," Zelaya told Reuters in a telephone interview from neighboring Nicaragua. He said, however, that he had not yet dismissed Costa Rican President Oscar Arias' call for a further 72 hours to try to resolve the conflict.
