BEIJING, July 20 | Mon Jul 20, 2009 5:26am EDT

BEIJING, July 20 (Reuters) - PetroChina (0857.HK)(601857.SS) will raise crude oil processing capacity at its Jilin plant by a third to 200,000 barrels per day (bpd) by October 2010, its parent CNPC said in a company newspaper over the weekend.

Jinlin will add crude distillation, catalytic cracking, gas fractionation, diesel hydrotreating, gasoline hydrotreating and sulphur recovering units, the China Petroleum Daily reported.

It did not disclose the nameplate capacity of the units, nor did it specify the investment needed.

Jilin will also build a 400,000-tonne-per-year (tpy) plant for ABS (Acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene), a kind of engineering plastic. The project is expected to be operational by October 2011. (Reporting by Jim Bai and Chen Aizhu; Editing by Chris Lewis)
