Morgan Stanley HK banking head leaves for HSBC

HONG KONG, July 20 (Reuters) - The head of Hong Kong investment banking for Morgan Stanley (MS.N) is leaving to run a China banking group for HSBC (HSBA.L), sources familiar with the matter said on Monday.

Che-Ning Liu is leaving Morgan Stanley to be HSBC's Greater China corporate banking head, the sources said. Liu became a managing director at Morgan Stanley in 2001, according to a press release at the time.

HSBC declined to comment. Morgan Stanley did not return a message seeking comment.
