Top 20 Temporary Healthcare Staffing Firms Generate $5.3 Billion in Sales

AMN Healthcare Services the largest in Total Healthcare Staffing
LOS ALTOS, Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The top twenty temporary healthcare
staffing companies generated $5.3 billion in sales in 2008, with AMN
Healthcare being the "big dog" in the group. Staffing Industry Analysts
groups healthcare staffing companies into four sub-segments: largest overall,
largest per diem nurse, largest travel nurse and largest locum tenens. AMN is
the largest in travel nursing and is the overall largest healthcare staffing
company.
According to Tony Gregoire, Research Analyst, Staffing Industry Analysts, "We
estimate that AMN has 10% market share in the overall temporary healthcare
staffing market and 30% in travel nursing. Given the shake up in healthcare
staffing, it will be interesting to see how next years numbers will look."
