Baosteel seen raising key Sept steel prices 5-6 pct

SHANGHAI, July 30 (Reuters) - China's Baoshan Iron and Steel Co Ltd (600019.SS) (Baosteel) is expected to raise September prices for its major hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel products by about 5 to 6 percent versus its August tags, trade sources close to the company said on Thursday.

Baosteel, the listed unit of China's largest steelmaker, is expected to raise prices by 200 to 300 yuan per tonne, as Chinese steel makers are hiking prices to bolster profits and to shift rising production costs to downstream users.

Wuhan Iron and Steel Co (600005.SS), another large steel producer, is also expected to match the price hike, increasing major product prices by 200 to 400 yuan per tonne, the sources said. (Reporting by Alfred Cang and Edmund Klamann)
