July 30 (Reuters) - British aircraft operator Dart Group Plc (DTG.L) said its full-year pretax profit soared, driven by stronger performance at its leisure airline business, and it resumed dividend payment.

The company, which also distributes fresh produce under the Fowler Welch-Coolchain brand, said it expected to grow its aviation and distribution businesses cautiously in the year ahead given current market conditions.

"With our expected fuel requirements fully hedged and a carefully tailored flying programme, we are well placed to deliver satisfactory financial performance in this financial year in difficult trading conditions," Chairman Philip Meeson said in a statement.

Jet2.com's full-year performance significantly improved as its focus on leisure routes and tailoring of seat capacity to demand increased load factors and yield, the company said.

For the year ended March 31, the company reported a pretax profit of 33.5 million pounds ($54.86 million), compared with 11.8 million pounds a year earlier. Revenue rose slightly to 439 million pounds from 429 million.

The company also said it will pay its final dividend of 0.71 pence.

Dart shares were up 9.3 percent at 67.75 pence at 0741 GMT on the London Stock Exchange. They touched a high of 73.96 pence in early trade.
