Zhongpin Presents Its Integrated Industrial and IT Advances to the Chinese
Consumer Goods Industry Conference
CHANGGE CITY and BEIJING, China, July 30 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ --
Zhongpin Inc. ("Zhongpin", Nasdaq: HOGS), a leading meat and food processing
company in the People's Republic of China, today announced that it presented
Zhongpin's experience in applying integrated industrial engineering and
information technologies at the "National Conference for Advances in
Industrial and Information Technologies Applied in the Consumer Goods
Industry."
The conference was held by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and
Information Technology (MIIT) in Zhengzhou in Henan province on July 15, 2009.
Attending the conference were 79 representatives from many companies, plus
senior officials from the Chinese government.
As the only company from Henan province to present, Zhongpin was selected
as the sole representative to present within the domestic food processing
industry. A total of 10 companies from diverse industries introduced and
explained their process engineering and IT innovations and results. Companies
that presented included the Haier Group, Qingdao Hong Ling Company, Shanghai
Metersbonwe Fashion & Accessories Co., and others.
Zhongpin's presentation was titled "Enhancing Competitiveness by Applying
Integrated Industrial Process Engineering and Information Systems."
Mr. Xianfu Zhu, Chairman and CEO of Zhongpin, said, "We are very pleased
to have been the only representative presenting for the Chinese food
processing industry at this influential and high-profile conference. Being
selected shows the MIIT's recognition of the outstanding and innovative
advances Zhongpin has made in its integrated operations, management, and
accounting IT system and also highlights the kinds of major advances that can
be achieved by applying advanced industrial process technology to China's food
processing industry.
"Zhongpin has invested extensively to industrialize its traditional food
processing and has leveraged those industrial process advances with modern
information systems. The result is dramatically higher efficiency and
profitability, stronger competitiveness, and a new foundation for sustainable
long-term success.
"Zhongpin's advances and integration of industrial engineering and
information technology, applied to most of our processes, have resulted in
Zhongpin having the leading vertically integrated supply chain in the food
processing industry, which also ensures the very high quality and safety of
our products. We are confident these investments will help maximize our value
for shareholders and further strengthen our customers' satisfaction and our
market position in the food processing and supply business."
