DALLAS, TX, Jul 30 (MARKET WIRE) --
Quickoffice, Inc., the leading global provider of mobile office
productivity software and solutions, today announced the latest update to
its Quickoffice Premier 6 product for Nokia Symbian (S60 3.x and S60 5.0)
devices. The company's latest release delivers a complete S60 office suite
by adding PowerPoint 2007 viewing capabilities to the already supported
Word, Excel and PowerPoint file formats. In addition, the product now
offers both editing and viewing of documents on the popular S60 5.0 touch
user interface.
All Nokia Symbian devices that ship with Quickoffice will receive a free
update to the latest edition of Quickoffice 6. This will provide complete
Word, Excel and PowerPoint '97 to 2007 viewing support, as well as many
other new features, and also offers most users the optional ability to
purchase support for document editing. Selected Nokia Eseries devices will
additionally receive editing support with a free Quickoffice Premier 6
update. All updates are available via Quickmanager(TM), Quickoffice's
secure in-application download manager. Further free updates will be
released to users when available, making sure customers will benefit from
the latest versions of Quickoffice's leading office functionality.
"We are very happy to be able to work with Quickoffice to jointly deliver
this new feature at no cost for our customers," said Waldemar Sakalus,
vice president at Nokia. "Bringing the ability to access all Office 2007
document types to devices such as the Nokia N97, Nokia E75 and the Nokia
5800 is a great benefit for our customers."
Consumers with a Nokia Symbian S60 5th Edition device will also receive
the Quickoffice 6 viewer update and now, for the first time, can also
benefit from the ability to upgrade to editing for an additional fee.
Quickoffice is the first company to provide a complete viewing and
editing solution across both S60 3rd Edition and 5th Edition phones,
perfect for on-the-go users.
"We're excited to be able to provide these powerful updates to Nokia's
users," said Gregg Fiddes, vice president sales and strategic partnerships
at Quickoffice. "We look forward to providing Nokia and Quickoffice users
with further innovative updates as new versions of Quickoffice become
available."
Quickoffice allows users to open, view, edit and create native Microsoft
Office documents directly on their phone, without compromising data
integrity. The mobile office suite retains file formatting, delivering
superior document 'round-trip' capabilities and allowing users to
confidently edit and exchange files between their computers and
smartphones.
