SCOTTSDALE, AZ, Jul 30 (MARKET WIRE) --
American Petro-Hunter, Inc. (OTCBB: AAPH) ("American Petro-Hunter" or the
"Company") today wishes to update the progress of drilling at the #1 Lee
18AB well on the Brinkman Project in Clark County, Kansas.
The well has passed the 1,100 foot depth and is drilling ahead towards the
total depth (T.D.) target of 5,400 feet. The exploratory oil well is
anticipated to reach T.D. on August 5th. The Company has posted photos of
the drilling operations at Brinkman that can be viewed on the projects
page at

About the Brinkman Project:
Brinkman is located 20 miles south of Dodge City totaling 1,760 acres
straddling the Clark-Meade County line. The project is next to historic
oil production primarily from Marmaton Limestone with secondary
objectives in the Morrow Sand. Over 49,000 barrels has been produced from
a seismic anomaly to the northeast of the #1 Lee 18AB drilling location
as well as from Langdon Sands in the area that has produced cumulative
gas production in excess of 1 BCF. The target is a structure in the
Marmaton delineated by 3D seismic having potential to contain both light
oil and natural gas. Brinkman is a potential multi-well program.
Engineering estimates for a successful, commercially viable well that
could deliver between 40 and 100 barrels per day along with associated
natural gas. The full development of the field could produce between 300
and 400 BOPD of light oil. There is excellent transportation and support
infrastructure in the area.
