GARTMORE IRISH GROWTH FUND PLC                         

                              Ordinary 25p shares                              

The Company announces that it purchased in the market on 30 July 2009 18,000
Ordinary 25p Shares at a price of 509.00 pence per share for cancellation.

Following this transaction the number of shares in issue is 10,827,442 none of
which are held in Treasury.
