Schaeffer's Option Blog: Option Traders Energized as Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. Perks Up

CINCINNATI--(Business Wire)--
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Inc. (NASDAQ: GMCR) has garnered excessive
attention in the options arena today, after the coffee king's quarterly earnings
fell short of analysts' expectations. According to data from WhatsTrading.com,
the security has seen roughly 8,500 puts and 10,500 calls change hands so far
today, more than quintupling its average intraday volume of about 1,500 puts and
1,700 calls. 

On the put side, traders have flocked to the August 60 strike, with more than
2,500 contracts crossing the tape so far today. On the call side, the August 70
strike is most popular, with almost 3,750 contracts traded at midday. Elsewhere
in the front-month series, the 65-, 75-, and 80-strike calls have each seen
intraday volume of more than 1,300 contracts.
