Detroit Branch NAACP President, Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony, Denounces
Congressman Thaddeus McCotter's Resolution

DETROIT, July 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is a statement by
Detroit Branch NAACP President, Rev. Dr. Wendell Anthony:

Congressman Thaddeus McCotter is misguided in his attempts to force President
Barack Obama to apologize for his remarks to the Cambridge Police Department.
If Congressman McCotter is interested in passing resolutions for apologies
then he should start by issuing an apology to the citizens of Michigan for the
current state of the economic climate in Michigan. Perhaps the Congressman
should present a resolution apologizing to the thousands of mentally ill
people in Michigan who can't receive adequate care because of the lack of
mental health facilities here. Congressman McCotter should pass a resolution
apologizing to every American for the failure to pass a national healthcare
program. A healthcare resolution would benefit every American regardless of
race, ethnicity, sex or vocation. America needs fewer apologies and more
advocacy to achieve a better quality of life for all people.
