Marie H. Little (Wife of Well-Known 70's Evangelist and Author Paul E. Little) 1918-2009 CHICAGO, July 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Marie H. Little, the widow of well-known evangelism author Paul E. Little passed away on July 28th 2009 at the age of 91. Memorials may be given to Bright Hope International, Evangelism Fund, 2060 Stonington Avenue, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. www.BrightHope.org Marie had an extensive ministry in reaching out to people in her community and she had scores of Bible studies and discipleship groups over the years. Marie went as a missionary to China in 1947 and was caught in the communist takeover of that country. She applied for an exit visa but it was not granted and she was the last missionary left at the Borden Memorial Hospital in North West China. In July of 1951 another missionary in a closeby area appealed to the authorities for an exit visa and he asked that Marie's be granted too. The authorities approved the request and on August 1st they travelled by bus and train for 10 days to escape to Hong Kong. After she returned home she joined Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and met Paul. They were married and have two children Deborah and Paul. In recent years Marie spent her time revising Paul's bestselling books, "How to Give Away Your Faith," "Know What You Believe," and "Know Why You Believe." Paul Little was killed in a car accident in Canada in July 1975 and since then Marie has carried on a wide ministry of teaching and practicing evangelism.
