CANADA STOCKS-TSX follows resources to higher open
TORONTO, July 30 (Reuters) - Toronto's main stock index shot to a higher open on Thursday as a rise in prices for key Canadian commodities oil and gold helped to support the resource-heavy index.
The S&P/TSX composite index .GSPTSE rose 138.59 points, or 1.33 percent, to 10,593.92 at the open. All 10 TSX sectors were higher, led by a 2.3 percent advance in the mining-laden materials group. (Reporting by Frank Pingue; editing by Peter Galloway)
