July 30 (Reuters) - Healthcare companies are pouring millions of dollars into the escalating debate on President Barack Obama's drive for healthcare reform, hoping their voice will be heard when the voting begins in the U.S. Congress.

Drugmakers, doctors, insurers and hospitals are the leading spenders. Here is a look at some of the biggest spenders on lobbying as the debate began in April, May and June, according to reports filed with the Senate.

- Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers, $6.1 million.

- Pfizer (PFE.N), $5.6 million

- American Medical Association, $3.8 million.

- Eli Lilly (LLY.N), $ 3.6 million

- Amgen (AMGN.O), $3.4 million.

- Blue Cross/Blue Shield, 2.8 million.

- GlaxoSmithKline (GSK.L), $2.3 million.

- Novartis (NOVN.VX), $1.8 million.

- MetLife Group (MET.N), $1.7 million.

- Allstate (ALL.N), $1.5 million.

- Merck & Co. (MRK.N) $1.5 million.
