Venezuela starts paying Lafarge and Holcim

CARACAS, July 30 (Reuters) - Venezuela said on Thursday it will make a first payment worth $378 million to French building materials group Lafarge (LAFP.PA) and Swiss cement group Holcim (HOLN.VX) to compensate for their nationalization last year.

The government also said in a statement it may make the remaining payments without interest over the next four years.
