Datang sees jump in H1 profit on higher tariffs

HONG KONG, July 31 (Reuters) - Datang International Power Generation Co. Ltd (0991.HK) said late on Thursday its first-half net profit may have increased by more than half as sales revenue was boosted by adjustments to on-grid tariffs and thermal prices.

The power producer (601991.SS) posted 418.9 million yuan ($61.31 million) profit for the first half of 2008.
