White House says Clinton visit to N.K. "solely private"
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Tuesday described former President Bill Clinton's visit to North Korea a "solely private mission" to secure the release of two U.S. journalists held by Pyongyang.
"While this solely private mission to secure the release of two Americans is on the ground, we will have no comment. We do not want to jeopardize the success of former President Clinton's mission," White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said in a statement.
