Solar wafer maker Comtec eyes $150 mln HK IPO-report

HONG KONG | Tue Aug 4, 2009 10:07pm EDT

HONG KONG Aug 5 (Reuters) - Chinese solar silicon wafer maker Comtec Solar is expected to raise up to US$150 million in an initial public offering of shares in Hong Kong in the fourth quarter, the Hong Kong Economic Times reported on Wednesday.

Citing unidentified sources, the newspaper said Comtec, which competes with Solargiga Energy (0757.HK), aimed to raise US$100 million-$150 million in a flotation and would submit a listing application later this month. It gave no further listing details.

Many listing candidates are racing to list in Hong Kong because of the stock market's recent rally and an improved investor appetite for risk.

Casino fit-out specialist Sundart International Holdings was planning to raise up to HK$700 million ($90.3 million) in an initial public offering of shares later this month, to fund expansion on the mainland and in the Middle East, the South China Morning Post reported, citing sources.

Sundart, which fitted the interiors of the MGM Hotel Grand Hotel, Grand Lisboa Hotel and Casino, and Wynn Resort Macau, was expected to double the size of its share sale from an initial HK$300 million-HK$400 million on strong market conditions, the newspaper added.
