Euro, Bund futures steady as ECB rates unchanged

LONDON Aug 6 (Reuters) - The euro and Bund futures held steady on Thursday after the European Central Bank left interest rates on hold as expected.

The ECB kept rates at a record low 1.0 percent [nL622515]. The market is now awaiting a press conference by the central bank's president Jean-Claude Trichet at 1230 GMT.

After the decision, the euro was trading at $1.4376, little changed from before the announcement and down 0.2 percent on the day.

The September Bund future FGBLc1 was unchanged from pre-ECB rate decision at 121.82, up 15 ticks on the day.

The FTSEurofirst 300 .FTEU3 of European shares was also little changed after the ECB announcement. It was up 1 percent by 1147 GMT.
