Euro pares losses vs dollar after ECB comments on growth

NEW YORK Aug 6 (Reuters) - The euro pared some of its losses versus the U.S. dollar on Thursday after the European Central Bank President said he sees a gradual recovery in 2010. For details, see [ID:nFAE005213]

The euro was last at $1.4395 EUR=, still down 0.1 percent on the day. It traded at $1.4370 prior to Jean-Claude Trichet's comments.

The ECB president spoke after a Governing Council policy meeting at which the bank left its key interest rate unchanged at 1.0 percent.
