** Struggling British broadcaster ITV (ITV.L) announced that it had agreed to sell its social network Friends Reunited, which it bought for over 170 million pounds in 2005, for 25 million pounds to DC Thomson. [ID:nL5146996]

** A group of shareholders opposed to last year's break-up and nationalisation of Belgian-Dutch financial concern Fortis FOR.BR lost their attempt to halt further dismantling of the company, the group said. [ID: nL6410374]

** Slovene top bank NLB said it sold stakes in beverage producer Pivovarna Lasko (PILR.LJ) and leading retailer Mercator (MELR.LJ) to its own company Fin-Do. [ID: nL6469743]

** Indian cellular firm Aircel, 74 percent owned by Malaysia's Maxis, has shortlisted four firms including American Tower (AMT.N) and Bharti Infratel to conduct due diligence as its looks to sell part or all of its tower holdings, two banking sources with knowledge of the deal said.
