HOUSTON Aug 7 (Reuters) - A power surge at Exxon Mobil Corp's (XOM.N) refining complex in Baytown, Texas, on Thursday caused the partial shutdown and restart of several units, including a gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit, according to notices the company filed Friday with Texas pollution regulators.

The Exxon Baytown refinery is the nation's largest at 572,500 barrels per day.

Feed rates to units at the refinery were cut due to the power surge on a line operated by a third-party provider. The surge also triggered a fire in a piperack at the chemical plant, according to a trade source.

In the three filings covering the refinery, chemical plant and olefins plant at the Baytown complex, Exxon notes "no impact to production and all customer needs are being met."

Exxon was continuing to restore normal operations at the refinery, according to an Exxon spokeswoman.

The fire was quickly extinguished, according to the Baytown fire department.
