Aug 10 (Reuters) - British travel group Holidaybreak Plc HBR.L said on Monday it exchanged contracts to buy a site at Liddington, Wiltshire, from the administrators of the Liddington Hotel for 9.4 million pounds ($15.7 million) to expand its education division .

A further investment of up to 3.2 million pounds in the site's facilities would be spread over 2010, 2011 and 2012, the company said.

The 150-acre site, formerly a training centre and more recently a hotel, would open as an outdoor education centre for the 2010 season for PGL, the provider of school trips and educational tours bought by Holidaybreak in 2007.

The deal is expected to be completed on Sept. 18.

"The education division will continue to be the key driver of growth for the group and we are looking for further locations for PGL centres, as well as sensible smaller bolt-on education businesses," Chairman John Coleman said in a statement.
