Indian shares rise on strong Asia; Bharti falls

MUMBAI Aug 10 (Reuters) - Indian shares rose in early trade on Monday, buoyed by strong markets across Asia after better-than-expected U.S. jobs data boosted sentiment worldwide.

However, top telecoms firm Bharti Airtel (BRTI.BO) fell 2.3 percent to 375 rupees after a source familiar with the negotiations told Reuters the company may increase its offer for a stake in South African peer MTN (MTNJ.J) by between 5 and 10 percent. [ID:nL6362142]

At 10:00 a.m. (0430 GMT), the 30-share BSE index .BSESN was up 1.1 percent at 15,319.25 points, with 26 stocks gaining.
