A man shot dead by police during a raid in Central Java at the weekend is not Islamic militant Noordin Mohammad Top as initially believed based on fingerprints, facial features and the body posture of the man, a senior official from the anti-terrorism unit Detachment 88 said.

Police have taken blood samples from Noordin Mohammad Top's children in Malaysia for DNA samples in a bid to try and establish whether a man shot dead in raids at the weekend is the Islamic militant, Indonesia's ambassador to Malaysia was quoted by the state Antara news agency as saying.
