MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER

The government said on Monday that Park Geun-hye, former chairwoman of the ruling Grand National Party, will visit Europe from August 24 to September 5 as the president's special envoy.

According to the Finance Ministry and the Parliament on Monday, the aggregate financial liabilities of 24 state-run companies had reached 126.4 trillion won ($102.9 billion) in 2008, with interest payments for this year expected to be 4 trillion won ($3.26 billion).
