NEW YORK, Aug 12 (Reuters) - ETF Securities Ltd, an operator of
commodity exchange-traded funds (ETFs), said it will launch five ETFs
backed by precious metals on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Aug. 24.
In a statement dated Tuesday, the London-based company said the 5 new
ETFs are: Physical Gold (1672.T), Physical Silver (1673.T), Physical
Platinum (1674.T), Physical Palladium (1675.T) and a Physical PM Basket ETF
(1676.T).
In late July, ETF Securities launched a U.S. silver trust (SIVR.P) on
the New York Stock Exchange. The trust's silver bullion holdings exceeded
$80 million this week.
Exchange-traded products issue securities backed by physical stocks of
a commodity, giving investors exposure to the underlying asset prices.
